The genesis of Beam’s technology is derived from many years of radar and data transmission research and experience. Beam’s 60 GHz wireless technology is based on combining silicon germanium RF chips with an extremely small array of antennas to generate a focused beam which can travel hundreds of meters in distance. Unique analog beam-steering electronics allow the antenna array to automatically steer and shape the beam in order to eliminate manual positioning and maximize the throughput of the gigabit wireless data link.
The goal of Beam’s efforts has been to develop a 60 GHz wireless transceiver module that will enable a wireless mesh backhaul network. This kind of network is highly prized by the cellular mobile service providers because it increases the density of the mobile network and allows for the support of more mobile clients at higher data rates. Exponential growth in the use of smartphones for video consumption (Netflix, Facebook Live, YouTube, etc.) is driving this trend. The key unique features enabled by Beam include …
Compact size – Ability to mount onto a lamppost, bus shelter or building.
Low cost – Approximately 10x less than current solutions.
Gigabit throughput – Ability to match fiber optic cable.
Beam steering / self alignment – Eliminate technician manual alignment costs.
1. AT&T / Verizon / ONF (Open Networking Forum) – Joint development on 60 GHz wireless mesh network for showcase at Mobile World Congress Barcelona in late February 2018. 2. IDT (Integrated Device Technologies, San Jose CA) – Digital baseband partnership 3. MAFAT – 60 GHz wireless mesh network for military use.

AVA optimizes bandwidth performance by overcoming network limitations, providing uninterrupted HD and UHD 4K viewing experience, with crisp, steady picture quality. The built-in streaming optimization extracts over 200% higher throughput from existing network, so viewers gain up to 300% higher resolution and up to 80% less buffering pauses. AVA’s Quality-of-Service mechanism minimizes unwanted bitrate switches, cutting resolution drops by half, providing consistent streaming video, regardless of congested network conditions. Client-side only software operates seamlessly, requiring no integration on server or network side, eliminates viewing frustration caused by buffering and poor image quality, increasing user engagement, viewing time and brand loyalty.

Here are a few notable POCs that RAD has conducted with Tier 1 service providers:
MEF16 Proof of Concept Excellence Award: The Proof of Concept (PoC), titled “Multi-Vendor Service Orchestration using Open APIs for Service Activation, Performance Monitoring and NFV,” was built on CenturyLink’s network and demonstrated the tangible benefits associated with multi-vendor automation using open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Software Defined Networking (SDN), and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV)-based value-added services.
The PoC demonstrates how RAD’s ETX-2i-B NFV-enabled NID and RADview domain controller support Performance Monitoring API, VNF instantiation on NFV-enabled NIDs, and service-chaining VNFs & MEF CE 2.0 NID.
Learn more about the PoC here.
MEF17 Proof of Concept (PoC) Silver Award: This PoC together with Telia Company showcased real world implementations of SD-WAN Managed Services with complementary virtualized functions, over multi-domain, multi-vendor infrastructure. RAD’s contribution consisted of the ETX-2i with its carrier grade vCPE-OS operating system, which combine advanced NID and vCPE functionalities. In this PoC, the ETX-2i hosted the SD-WAN VNF and service-chained it with a firewall VNF. The ETX-2i and vCPE-OS are part of RAD’s vCPE Toolbox, which brings together service assurance- for any VNF over any access, and with open interfaces for any orchestrator. This allows controlled, low-risk transition to vCPE/SDN.
vAccess Shortlisted for Most Innovative NFV Product Strategy Award: RAD’s vAccess VNF for network edge virtualization was selected as finalist for Light Reading’s Leading Lights award in the category of Most Innovative NFV Product. vAccess is RAD’s latest addition to its comprehensive vCPE Toolbox, which allows Service Providers to roll out vCPE services today without vendor lock-in.
Part of RAD’s Service Assured Access solutions, it allows immediate deployment of value added SDN/NFV-based services over any access. A live demo of the multifunctional vAccess was successfully presented this year at both the MPLS-SDN-NFV World in Paris and the Big Communications Event in Austin. vAccess is already in use by a Tier 1 operator in North America. There it helps to extend the operator’s uCPE-based service beyond fiber access over traditional TDM circuits, which still make up 20 to 30 percent of deployments, especially in rural sites.
Learn more about the vAcccess here.
PoC at BCE 2018 – Boosting uCPE White Box Capabilities and Performance: In this demo, we show how RAD’s vCPE Toolbox helps boost white box performance, adding hardware acceleration and interface conversion functionalities.

SecuredTouch Inc. provides real time identity verification for mobile applications and Websites. It offers a platform that analyzes each user’s unique interaction with devices to differentiate between good and bad users. The company was founded in 2014 and is based in Tel-Aviv with 25 full-time employees. Investors include RDC, Arvato, Wellborn Ventures.
SecuredTouch provides a risk and authentication platform for mobile apps and transactions that detects fraud and removes friction based on user gesture analysis. It also differentiates between human and nonhuman behavior. The product continuously verifies mobile users’ identities by analyzing their physical behavior, in a way that is transparent to end users. It includes an SDK that can be easily integrated into any app and an API to receive risk indications for mobile sessions in real time. Up to 100 physical behavioral data points are converted to a risk score for each user and session using machine learning algorithms. Scores and insights are provided through a RESTful API interface. Companies can apply security policy and authentication decisions in real time based on the combination of the risk score and recommended thresholds.
Traditional authentication methods are struggling to keep up with the expansion of online services. Yet additional systems like two-factor authentication can prove to be cumbersome. Particularly in consumer, retail focused and mobile facing platforms, older technologies create friction and stop people from using services. Behavioral technology can accurately analyze how a user interacts with their device and adapt to the user natural changes, transparently producing a dynamic digital profile to confirm their identity and develop an ongoing authentication without requiring the consumer to do anything.
Strategic partners include IBM, ForgeRock, Kaspersky and more.

SeismicAI offers a regional earthquake early warning system (EEWS). Our network of sensors will provide an effective alert on coming earthquake faster and more accurately than other solutions in the market. The system leverages years of seismological research conducted by leading scientists. Combining the proven seismological knowledge with a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and machine learning that offers the most robust, reliable and cost effective EEWSin the market.
Japan is the leading place in the world that has an earthquake alert system that actually works; The Japanese system required many years of seismological research, investment of tens of Billions of Dollars, a cumbersome and long installation and very high maintenance costs. Still, it is worth their while, as the impact of the Japanese system is huge, and the differences in loss of life and money between the before & after are unbelievable.Seismic AI, if we put it simply, can provide a ‘Japanese level’ earthquake alert system, for a fraction of the price, and in a very short and easy installation process that is affordable. It implements all the lessons learned from the Japanese example, with ALL the upside, without ANY of the downsides. It is done by ‘replacing’ the need for a long, deep, seismological research with an Artificial Intelligence software, that ‘studies’ the ground, and is able not only to alert (and take immediate actions following such alert) in real time far ahead of any other option, but it can also help with the prediction side of it by creating a ‘heat-map’ of the region, which provides a ‘preview’ of what the impact of an earthquake will be, and where it will probably hit the hardest.Unfortunately, earthquakes are not something science is able to predict, but the Seismic AI system can give the fastest and the most reliable alert once it starts. The company is based on proprietary arrays of sensors and software which were developed by leading Israeli scientists and algorithm researchers.
The team of the company includes the leading Seismology Professor from the Tel-Aviv university and Princeton; the retired General Eyal Eizenberg, until recently the Commander of the IDF Homefront Command and a world expert in earthquakes; Arab researchers; and a leading Israeli high-tech team of Artificial Intelligence developers. With a very low cost of a couple of million Dollars, we can provide the state of Israel and each of its citizens – Jews and Arabs – a real protection and alert against earthquakes; furthermore – if we deploy the system in Israel, we can save the lives of Jordanians, Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians, as the whole region might suffer a lethal earthquake any day now.
